About Us
We are located in Medicine Hat’s historic downtown and operate out of the historic Citadel Building. We are a primary producer of corporate communications and multimedia tools for a wide range of clients and industries both local and international.
We began operations in the Spring of 1997 with a primary focus of developing corporate communications and industrial illustrations and design work. At that time we had one full-time staff member (founder Daniel Engel) and three part-time contract workers. Since then we have grown to eight full-time staff members and five part time employees. We have a very close family-oriented staff who have all been very specially chosen based on their unique talents and strengths. Our team works very well together and take great pride in their clear responsibilities to our organization, each other and our community.
The management of large projects has become second-nature to the organization. In order to manage a variety of projects, the company operates with custom project management and information tracking software. This has enabled Hide Away Studios to organize, manage and track projects efficiently and with a standardized task-based level of detail. Each task throughout a project is monitored and tracked. Notes from each task are entered by each team member and attached by the system to a time log. This process enables very accurate quoting, billing and reporting procedures.
Although we operate under contract with a number of different organizations, one of the most noteworthy is our working relationship with our community. We are currently contracted to provide all Tourism services through the City of Medicine Hat. This includes all partnerships, planning and marketing operations and the management of Visitor Information services including the year-round operation of our local Visitor Information Centre.
